State orders closure of all boarding schools in Zamfara

The state has ordered the immediate closure of all boarding schools in Zamfara. The state governor, Bello Matawalle gave these orders following the Friday morning abduction of 300 schoolgirls in Jangebe.

In the statement of the governor during the evening broadcast, he said;  “As we are making efforts to strengthen the security around our schools, I have directed the immediate closure of all boarding secondary schools across the State…”

He went on to assure the families and loved ones of the recently abducted schoolgirls of the government’s commitment to ensuring their daughters are safe and brought back to them. Citing the efforts being made by the police in the search for the girls, the investigations and rescue missions, he also promised to keep all affected parties in the loop with further happening and development.
