On Tuesday, Umahi paid a visit to the communities to comfort the bereaved families and assess the extent of the attackers’ damage. In his remarks to the crowd, he expressed regret for the heinous assault. He directed all of the state’s security agencies to go after the offenders and bring them to justice.
‘This afternoon, I received disturbing news about an assault on four communities in the state. We are saddened that such a thing should occur in Ebonyi, and we are concerned for our nation, Nigeria, and we are at a loss for words. “We condemn this attack because, if permitted to proceed in this manner, it has the potential to result in very serious killings,’ he said.
Umahi encouraged the groups to stay peaceful and prevent retaliation, while efforts are made to bring the hoodlums to justice.
