The United Nations has donated N5.8 billion to Guinea and the Democratic Republic of Congo to help in curtailing the spread of the Ebola Virus which had hit the two countries of West Africa.
The World body said the allocation of the $15 million was an initial rapid package from the organization’s Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF).
Mr. Mark LowCock, UN, Emergency Relief Coordinator who made this known on Tuesday during a press briefing said it was important to support Guinea and the Democratic Republic of Congo to help reduce the spread of the Ebola Virus to other countries, especially in this time of Coronavirus.

Stephane Dujarric, UN Spokesman, who represented LowCock, said;
detailed allocation decisions will be made in the next few days as we receive more details about the specific requirements and needs on the ground.
