Unknown Gunmen kills Catholic Priest in Benue

Unknown gunmen are said to have shot and killed a Catholic priest, Rev. Fr Fabian Ngugban of Aye Twar parish, Agu Centre near Sai, Katsina-Ala LGA of Benue State.

Gbande U Logo, a local resident in the area where the attack took place, did affirm that the incident happened about 10 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

According to him, the attack has heightened the tension in the city, as people fleed for their lives out of fear, while the gunmen broke into the group and began firing indiscriminately before fatally shooting the priest.

Meanwhile, DSP Anene Sewuese Catherine, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, told a DailyPost correspondent that she had yet to obtain an official report on the incident when she said:

“I can’t confirm it right now because we haven’t received an official report on the subject.

She said, “When the report arrives, I’ll get back to you.”
